We are excited to announce a few big additions to the Kentucky Home family this week! First and foremost, we have launched a new brand of products, named Essential Living. One thing we learned from our backers through the Mason to Go campaign and the launch of our beeswax wraps is that our customers are passionate about their health, and about finding the right products to support their health focused lifestyle.
And from that, Essential Living was born. Our first lifestyle focused product is one we are really excited about, and have been using and testing with a small group of our Mason to Go backers, our friends and family for months to perfect: Lavender Dead Sea Salt Soak!
Why salt soak? We have used Epson salts and other similar products for years in our own health focused lifestyle. Jim on our team is an ultra runner, and after 8 to 10 hours running on a trail always liked to recover by soaking in a warm, relaxing salt bath. David from our team recently welcomed his first son into the world, and his wife tried a several different sitz bath salt soak products from Amazon as part of her postpartum recovery.
While salt soaks play a role in both of their “recovery” regimen, something was missing. Jim felt that that the over the counter Epsom salts felt cheap and low quality, while Aimee had a hard time justifying the $30 price tag of the one natural ingredient based product that she could find on Amazon.
Enter our Lavender Dead Sea Salt Soak, and the newest member of our team! When we began testing different ingredients for our salt soak recipe, it became crystal clear to us that this needed to be a Made in the USA product. We thought that Made in the USA was key to creating a product of such high quality we felt comfortable putting our name behind it. Also, as our company grows our long term goal is to help grow and positively impact our local community of Leitchfield, KY. Just as we did with the beeswax wraps, we work very hard to manufacture our products ourselves, hiring locally in our small community whenever possible.
In making the beeswax food wraps and hiring our friend and former flower farmer Mr. Dale, we came to know his wife Yvonne, and feel confident that she is the sweetest woman we have ever met. When it came time to hire a new employee to hand make our lavender salt, we couldn’t think of anyone else we would rather have on the team. Today Mrs. Yvonne hand mixes every small bath of our Lavender Dead Sea Salt Soak for us here in Leitchfield, Ky., and we are grateful every day to have her on the team.
So what goes into our salt? A beautiful blend of Food Grade Dead Sea Salt and essential oils.
Each bag contains 2 pounds of food grade Dead Sea Salt, soaked in coconut oil, lavender essential oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E oil. The resulting combination is a powerful mix to help relax after a long day (or ultra long run), or to sooth areas that need gentle attention during postpartum recovery, in treating hemorrhoids, or general care for ”sensitive areas”. Every ingredient is 100% natural, with no perfumes, chemicals or dyes to adulterate the end product.
