Quick Update - Shipping to KY this week!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jun 27, 2017 at 10:56:20 PM

Hello everyone!  A quick update from Mason to Go - our order is just about to ship from the factory to us here in Kentucky!

Our factory is boxing all of the units into shipping cartons right now, and preparing the customs paperwork to ship out the bulk order of lids.  They tell us everything will ship in the next 72 hours roughly, and then we should have everything in our hands here in Kentucky in approximately 7 to 10 days.

Tonight they are supposed to be sending us photos of the lids in their final product packaging, and we will have a new update out to you with photos as soon as they come in.

Also, to be fully transparent to our wonderful backers, we will post the tracking number of the shipment as soon as it leaves China, so you can follow it all the way here to Kentucky.  As soon as we receive it we will break the pallet down into the individual backer orders, and have them shipped out to each individual backer.

We will make sure to also post daily shipment updates as the backer orders go out, so you have visibility on how quickly everything is shipping to each of you.  Our goal is to have everything shipped to all backers within 10 days of the bulk order arriving to us in Kentucky.

Thank you again to everyone to all the support - we're excited to be this close to seeing Mason to Go as a product in your daily lives.  We will have a new update for you in the next couple days with the packaging photos and tracking numbers!

Best,

Carla, Jim, David, Amanda and Jack

In Production - An update from Mason to Go!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, May 05, 2017 at 01:34:02 PM

 Happy Friday everyone!

We wanted to send a quick note to thank all 900+ backers of the Mason to Go project, and give you a quick update on where we are at in the production process (we're in production!).

We have been having Skype meetings with our factory all week, and we are happy to report that as the lids go into production we are still on track to have all orders shipped to our backers as planned around July 1st. Since you heard from us last, we have been carefully making a few extra changes to the design to eliminate leaks, and we came up with a nice upgrade that we’re really happy about. Here are the highlights of what we’ve been focused on:

1 – In Production:  First and foremost, the first batch of our complete lid order has already gone through manufacturing and is currently coming off the production line. We are super excited to see these rolling out of the machines, and thought you would be just as thrilled as we are. Here is a quick look at the production process.

2 – Leak Fix:  After feedback from some of our Reddit beta testers, we discovered that the lids work great with Ball brand jars, but the thread pattern on some Kerr jar models, or vintage style jars can leave a small gap between the jar and seal that might let thin liquids like water slowly leak out.

We worked with our manufacturing partner to develop a thicker seal on the wide mouth side, and to change the tooling to press tighter threads into the lid. After our last test on multiple jar styles and brands we did not discover any leaks, and we felt comfortable moving the full Kickstarter order into production.

3 – Removable Seal Upgrade:  While experimenting for a solution to the slow leak issue, we developed a way to make the seals easily removable from the lid. Why removable? Again, we must thank our Reddit test group for pointing out that thicker foods like peanut butter can be very hard to clean out of the lid. With the removable seal, if you need to get extra deep into the lid to clean it out, or want to give it an extra good cleanse in the dish washer, you can now easily pop out the seal and have easy access into the threads of the lid for deep cleaning. To remove the seal first run the lid and seal under hot water, and you can then pull it out of the lid. Here is a look at the seal removal in action:

4 – Shipping Address Survey:  Last but not least, all but 97 of our backers have replied to our BackerKit survey to confirm their shipping address. We will continue to follow up with everyone that hasn’t responded so that we can make sure your lids get shipped out on time, and to the right place. If you haven’t confirmed your mailing address, you can do that by clicking here, or by visiting:  https://masontogo.backerkit.com/

Thank you again to all of our wonderful backers for the support, and the excitement about Mason to Go. We are excited to have orders in your hands and ready for use in just a few short weeks! In the meantime, if you have any questions about the lids, the manufacturing process, or if there is absolutely anything we can help with please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Surveys Sent!
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 24, 2017 at 06:27:23 PM

Good morning everyone!

The BackerKit surveys have been sent and you should see the survey in your inbox shortly.

A couple quick notes:

Surveys:  It is super important that everyone fills these out so we can confirm shipping addresses, and add-on order you upgraded to your pledge, etc.   Having this part of the project completed asap will go a long way in helping us keep the shipping schedule on track, so we can deliver your orders on time.

Add-on Orders:  Several hundred of you edited your pledge amount to add additional 3 Pack lid sets, waxed wraps and other items to your pledge - thank you!  When you fill out the BackerKit survey you will see your original pledge listed on the page, and then you will click to go on to the Add-on page to double confirm which product you want your additional pledge amount to go towards.  If you have any questions about how to do this please don't hesitate to ask, and we'll make sure you're taken care of!

BackerClub Members:  We had a great response from the BackerClub community and we are really appreciative for your support.   We have a list of all of the BackerClub pledges and we will be manually adding your extra sets to your order today.  No need to do anything on your end other than fill out the survey - we'll take care of the rest.

Thank you again, and please don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions about the surveys!

BackerKit Address & Add-on Surveys coming tomorrow!
about 7 years ago – Thu, Feb 23, 2017 at 05:06:59 PM

Good morning everyone!

We have officially crossed the two week waiting period after the project's close, and Kickstarter will now allow us to send out surveys to all of our backers so you can confirm your shipping address, and any Add-ons you may have upgraded to your pledge (extra lids, wax wrap sets, etc).

TOMORROW MORNING we will send an email with a special link to BackerKit surveys, and this is where you will confirm your Ship To address and any Add-On orders. It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for fulfilling your rewards and keeping our projected shipping schedule on time, so we can deliver your orders when promised.

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go!

You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. You do not have access to this survey link yet, but this is what we'll be sending you via a BackerKit email tomorrow morning.

If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.  The surveys will be closed on April 1st.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here: masontogo.backerkit.com.

If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, please contact support at masontogo.backerkit.com/faq and we'll get you sorted out!

Last but not least, if you or a friend missed a chance to pledge the Kickstarter project and get your own Mason to Go, we are able to now take Pre-Sale orders through our webstore on BackerKit.  You can find our store at:  www.masontogo.com.

Thank you again to everyone!  We sent our purchase order to the factory this week, so everything is on track, and we are excited to see the first sets go into production!

Between now and then if anyone has questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Our very best - Jim, Carla, David, Jack and Amanda

A giant Thank You from Mason to Go!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 07, 2017 at 10:45:22 PM

Good afternoon everyone!

We wanted to take a moment and thank all of the wonderful 914 backers that helped up bring Mason to Go to life over the past few weeks!

It has been amazing to get to talk with so many of you as the project progressed, to get prototype feedback from our Reddit test group, and to watch this idea we are so passionate about come to life.

Here is some quick info on the next steps now that the Kickstarter is complete:

Fulfillment:  We are working with BackerKit right now to set up the fulfillment surveys so that we can confirm everyones' ship-to addresses, and so that you can confirm all of your add-on orders are correct.  This will  help us ensure that everything goes off without a hitch on the shipping side.  Even though the campaign is closed, with BackerKit you will also have the ability to add on additional orders to your pledge - such as the waxed cotton wraps, additional lids, etc.  We should have surveys sent out late next week.

Production:  We are waiting for Chinese New Year to wrap up, and our manufacturer should be back in the office in just a couple weeks. We'll be experimenting with a few variations with the lid design through about mid-March based off some suggestions our "beta tester" group from Reddit gave us, and then we'll be ready to send the lids off to full production.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to ask us if you have any questions, and we'll make sure to keep every one of your fully updated as we move into production.

Thanks again to everyone!
